Yale Open Courses

The Yale Open Courses site is something you should check out! There you will discover a wide range of timely and timeless topics taught by Yale professors, each with a unique perspective and an individual interpretation of a particular field of study.

And the best is that these courses are free and available to you in either video, audio or text transcript formats [video and audio via YouTube]. Registration is not required; no credit is available for these courses.

Some examples of the courses offered: Financial Markets with Robert J. Shiller; The Atmosphere, The Ocean and Environmental Change with Ronald B. Smith; The Early Middle Ages with Paul Freedman; Hemingway, Fitzgerald and Faulkner with Wai Chee Dimock. The OYC site has been listed as one of the Top 50 Websites for 2011 by Time Magazine

*FYI -- This would be a wonderful tool for High School
students preparing for the SATs!
